GCC Workflow Continued (2)
Electronic PrePress
Photos, slides and reflective art are suitable for scanning. (Our scanner is capable of encompassing a piece up to 19.5" by 23.5" in dimensions.) The line screen rulings available are between 85-200 dpi. The magnification range is 20%-2500%. If you have a small transparency needing further enlargement, please provide an 8"x10" c-print or larger. Also, if you have a need for fine detail scanning such as paintings or drawings, we can provide you with a scan density between 350%-400%. We have a flatbed scanner for line art. Maximum original size is 8" by 11.5". The highest resolution is 3600 dpi.

We can accept all the industry standard types of graphic files, but may have to convert some formats to fit our workflow. There are some formats that create a smoother workflow. If it's an option for you, use Quark for layout, Illustrator for graphics and Photoshop for images. (The only software that we have conditional reservations about are Powerpoint and Publisher.)

Then all print-ready files are ripped and trapped using Rampage and imposed using Preps imposition software.
Proofing
Contract-based proofs are produced in a single page-based format on an Epson inkjet printer. Oris color calibration software is utilized to create proofs that match our presses. A digital backed-up blueline is made to verify pagination and corrections.

PDF proofs can be e-mailed to you for checking type, graphics, and layout. In addition, PDFs are available in the PDF section of eCustomer Service for viewing online, downloading, or printing to a local printer.
